This verse from Isaiah has been a favourite of mine for many years and has kept me always looking ahead and ready for the next thing that life puts in front of me. It has helped prepare me for many changes, big and small, and here I am starting something brand new by establishing Bayview Country Art Club. Operating my own Art School has been a desire of mine for longer than I can remember, along with the dream of writing and illustrating children’s books (maybe that will happen one day too!)… And finally, here it is!
At the time of writing this, I am still surrounded by unsorted books, art materials, boxes and furniture waiting to be assembled. My mind is full of “to do” lists and a sudden urgency as the date for the first class approaches. But it is starting to take shape. The studio has a beautiful and peaceful outlook, with a wall of large windows facing towards our small dam. With the main, glass topped tables constructed, I can now envisage the room in action. I can imagine a small group of artists gathered around the tables, enjoying the company and their creative pursuits in this especially dedicated space.
I trust that Bayview Country Art Club will be all that I hope it can be… a comfortable, encouraging, exciting place for relationships to grow and for creativity to flourish. May this brand new venture be a positive experience for everyone who enters the studio, including me!
